The Lightbar

by mcp

Jeep Mod Number 3: Light Bar
So what does a jeep need to be a bad ass jeep.
Lift - check
Wheels - check
32 inch tires - check
Fog lights - check
Sound system - check
Lights lots of lights -
well that brings me to jeep mod number 3 light bar.

I bought my jeep fully loaded only missing 3 things.
Hi lift jack which I promptly bought because well lets face it …its a necessity. Without it I can’t change a flat tire.
A skull shifter knob… cause well… stock shifter knob? Ha! Don't make me laugh.

I personally think that a jeep needs to have a light bar. They look bad ass and well lets face it that's what any jeep owner is going for: a penile supplement.  So I decided to wrangle up the crew and install one. First major firstlightjeep mod and it was major. First things first I bought a 3 piece light bar off the internet. It was cheap too like $80 on amazon. Alas though, no lights came with it. So I rolled down to Autozone and picked up 4 off road only truck driving lighallonts. They are not hellas or super bright or extra spendy but they look awesome are well, with 4 added lights, they’re pretty bright too. So with all the parts and a basic understanding of installation I headed off to my friends house to do the install. Incase your wondering its because he has the tools and the garage,   apartment dwellings are not suited for installation. Now it was suppose to be a straight forward bolt on bar with all hardware included. Well that's where the justspots first hurdle came in to play. The sent the bard to me with metric bolts that didn't fit my standard jeep so off to the bolt store for new bolts. Success! We found the right bolts and managed  to get the bar mounted. Man she is sexy too. So the next hurdle is the wiring harness. justspotsfrontal the harness that came with the lights was about 4 feet to short so let the splicing commence. Luckily both of my two jobs incorporate wiring so splicing is a skill i not only posses but am proficient at. After spliceing 12 wires together thlituplefte wiring was complete. Mean while hurdle number 3 creeps  up on us. The holes in the bar for the lights were bigger then the bolts on the lights. So what to do well this was a simple one and props to my friend for mounting the lights. Just get some washers woot done. Now the bars on lights on wires done test time. 1 ... 2... 3 ... and wam bam thank you ma’am they worked woot. Now after another frielitupfrontalnd of mine got his dremmel on and cut the holes for the switches we got them mounted and the dash back together. SIX hours later 2 pizzas and a couple of smokes, tojs finally has her new eyes open. Isn't she pretty . All and all it wasn't hard to install now i just need a dark dirt road.onbutblurry
